Help! We ran out of helmets again!

Kids_helmet

On October 16, the Azusa Canyon City Lions Club in conjunction with the City of Azusa held a BMX Stunt and bicycle safety show We had over 400 people attend.

As you may know, the club has made helmet safety one of its key programs these past couple years, and has purchased and distributed over 2,000 bike helmets through the generosity of friends, businesses, and nonprofits her in Azusa. At the event, we ran out of helmets again (in less than 45 minutes), and now have a waiting list of 150 children. Can you help us?

A donation of $100 buys 15 helmets. Any donation is greatly appreciated. If you have any money left in your personal or business budget, it can go to a great cause! Please send donations to: Azusa Canyon City Lions Club, PO Box 82, Azusa, CA 91702 by December 3!

If your business needs a letter from the club before you can make a gift, please email us at information@azusalions.org. We’ll be happy to help. J

Los Angeles Area Hunger Awareness Campaign

Let's Tackle Hunger Together!

Every day, over one billion people worldwide go hungry

In the Los Angeles area alone, over 400,000 children face hunger. Over the next few months, Lions from all around Los Angeles have an opportunity to do something about it! In partnership with the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, we are answering the call of our International President to confront the issue of hunger in our communities.

By joining together, we have the opportunity to:

  • Raise significant resources for hunger in our communities. For every $1 donated, the Food Bank distributes $5 worth of food and products.
  • Provide 1,000,000 or more meals for people in need
  • Raise awareness of hunger in the greater Los Angeles area
  • Create significant awareness of Lions’ service efforts regionally

We will be driving this effort through a specially designed website, press releases in papers throughout the region, and a focused social media effort. Participating clubs will be asked only to help promote the cause to their members and community. No resources or significant volunteer time is needed.

We’re “building the plane in the air” in answer to the president’s challenge and the unique opportunities of the holiday season and potential Rose Parade coverage.
